Health warning - these 2 reproduced posts describe the inner circle of the SP in Dublin West and nationally when I knew them in 2004-2005 and describe a mostly toxic inner circle so the posts are probably not pleasant to read. For most of the SP's years in existence through the election of Joe Higgins and Ruth Coppinger and two councillors the Dublin West constituency was the most successful constituency in the country for them in the few constituencies they have a presence in in the country.
Today in 2023 the SP only have 1 councillor in Dublin 15 and he is also their sole elected member on Fingal County Council. Ruth Coppinger has a chance of regaining the SP seat in the next or a future General Election.
