The “sense of absence” may explain why disconnected teens turn to addictive behaviors — PsyPost (2026)
I agree with this! I believe it is important to keep children's and teenagers' minds stimulated, as distinct
from teaching them brain "tricks". I know loads of people who grew / grow up learning loads of things
that are good for their brains but often not good for their mental and emotional development. What do I
mean? To be blunter I mean that children and teeanagers should be brought up to be holistically
intelligent instead of just nerds who simply know loads of info but who are not creative.

Baclofen for alcohol addiction? — DJP (2026)
Baclofen as a treatment for alcohol addiction mentioned in this new article on PsyPost.
I tried Baclofen for alcohol addiction once, and my brain felt so totally relaxed from taking it at first
that I thought that I could afford to drink again. Which is a frame of mind, if you are addicted to
alcohol, which is not good.
To make matters worse, not only did I drink again over those few days taking Baclofen – I didn't
realise that Baclofen is one of those tablets where you are NOT supposed to drink with AT ALL – and I
nearly had a breakdown!
I think that, given how relaxed my brain felt over the first day or two of taking Balcofen, it should
be researched more for other neurological and mental health conditions though.
I haven't drank alcohol since 2010, but if I thought I could afford to take Baclofen again for a
relaxation point of view, I would, given how relaxed I felt taking it at first. However I would need to
see more research done on the drug. What is the saying – "If something sounds too good to be true, it
probably is"?

Note the word "ecstasy". From what I remember of doing some of them when I was young is that
people use some legal (I am thinking in particular of alcohol although cannabis is legal in some places
as well) and illegal drugs (like the drug ecstasy or "e" or "yokes" as we called them itself and stronger
drugs) as they believe there is no other way of experiencing real, natural ecstasy.
I have learned that there are ways of experiencing real, natural ecstasy but you have to find it and in my
experience often actually create the experience. I can only speak for my own experience but I
experience this state most usually through spirituality and other things I am passionate about.
