I HATE cults!
My experience of them since I left college nearly 20 years ago has been in the areas of – a supermarket chain that I could only stick working in for 2 months; a far-left political cult even though I didn't formally join them; and a minority language cult even though I didn't formally join them either. With the latter 2 I don't believe that most of their leaders actually give a fuck about their causes while still being I believe cults which sends out a different in some ways more disturbing vibe.

Anthony de Mello (10)
I believe it's easy, especially when you are young although it would apply to most people throughout life, to replace alcoholism and other addictions with other isms that are also unhealthy (e.g. mad fundamentalism, mad patriotism) but I was delighted to read this in the book of Tony's I am reading now One Minute Wisdom as it expresses how I often feel today.

Nóta – I am not including the Gaelscoileanna movement and Irish language education in general in
this – I don't have a lot of experience of that outside of learning Irish in (English-medium) schools
and attending some coláistí samhraidh / second level summer colleges in the Gaeltacht.
