During the week I spent a few hours updating (or rather correcting) a lot of my hashtags on Youtube for my Youtube channels and the Ar Muin na Muice Near FM Youtube channel which I administrate.
I mainly formatted them properly just for the as Gaeilge / bilingual podcasts I have done with hashtags of placenames in the Dublin 15 area (where I live) and in the catchment area of Near FM including the Dublin Bay North constituency – Near FM's catchment area is north-east Dublin City and not Fingal but the station is based in Dublin Bay North in terms of the Dáil which includes part of Fingal.
Anyway all the below placenames as Gaeilge in these two lists are now registered on Youtube with their own individual pages e.g #AnChúlóg (Coolock). I think there has to be at least 6 videos / podcasts with a tag on Youtube for the tag to register.
Hopefully the nós of adding as Gaeilge placename tags will catch on on Youtube and I won't be surprised if it does / at least somewhat. I remember hearing that the nós was popular on TikTok.

The As Gaeilge placenames I registered on Youtube and with their own individual pages now include:
Baile Átha Cliath 15 agus Oirdheisceart na Mí / Dublin 15 and South-East Meath:
#CaisleánCnucha / Castleknock
Limistéar saincheadúnais Near FM agus Cuan Bhaile Átha Cliath Thuaidh / Near FM's catchment area and Dublin Bay North
#AnChúlóg / Coolock
Nuashonruithe / Updates
I have since tagged a few more as Gaeilge and bilingual podcasts from Dublin 15 and North-East Dublin, not only of my stuff but from podcasts from a couple of other people from Near FM as well.
A lot of the hashtags are not registering as they have to-date not been tagged enough – again I think each has to be tagged 6 times to register.
+ I have now retrospectively tagged other podcasts of mine including as Béarla podcasts with as Gaeile placenames hastags. I am not going to tag the majority of my podcasts going back to 2009 with as Gaeilge placenames hashtags though – only the podcasts that I think merit being tagged like so.
+ Youtube have as of late 2024 seemingly according to ChatGPT changed their hashtags limit from 30 hashtags per video / podcast to 15 – meaning that if we have more than 15 hashtags on a video / podcast none of them will register. I had to change 4 podcasts today because of this but fortunately the change of policy is not retrospective so most of my as Gaeilge podcasts initially tagged with upto 30 hashtags each are still coming up on those as Gaeilge hashtag pages.
Nóta / note
When I say hashtags on Youtube I am talking about those put in the video description and video (/podcast) titles not the "tags" box. There is a difference between both sets of tags on Youtube. I don't think the difference registers with a lot of people with Youtube accounts never mind people without accounts on it. 😊

Nótaí / Notes
* Some of the other placenames I have listed could perhaps be found as placenames in other parts
of Ireland as well. Some Irish placenames are also in other countries outside Ireland too although I
generally don't know much about them either as I am not an expert by any stretch on placenames.
** I have come across several other as Gaeilge placenames tags that were already coming up on
Youtube – in particular:
*** Bailte Seirbhíse Gaeltachta = Gaeltacht Service Towns. There are sixteen of these including
Cork City and Galway City.
